A new start to my 58gal!!
I replaced ALL the LR but about 3 small pieces. Hope this helps w/ my problems i have been running into. i am looking forward to getting stocked back up w/ SPS. i also removed my foxface, flame angel, and bi color pseudochromis. i still have my 2 clowns and 6-line wrasse and added 2 peppermint shrimp and a cleaner shrimp. in a couple weeks or a month i will add an algae eater (yellow eye kole tang probably) and maybe a black cap basset...and that is IT.
here are the new pics...oh my wife finished the aquascaping and it looks good!
Checked out all my levels (that i had test kits for) and everything was WAY better. Since the addition of the new "clean" LR my phosphate had been 0.0!!! Phosphate must have been trapped/stored in the old LR. So my tank should be on track to be an SPS tank once again
1/30/05 - took a couple pics today because i added TWO clams! one blue rim dersa that i got from my bro-in-law...it wasn't doing well in his VHO tank and also i picked up a "ultra blue crocea" (is what the LFS labled it as). the dersa was pooping out some dark poo yesterday as i am sure it is adjusting to my 400w 20k. and today the crocea is a little lighter color on the very inside crease of it...they should be ok once they settle in.
2/2/05 - clams are looking GREAT. i took out my SCUBA mask and tried to get a couple top down pics so we could see the TRUE colors of my clams...and i got a couple good shots. in the new pics of the new crocea you can really tell what color it is now. it is actually more green than the previous pics showed. i adjusted my white balance on my camera to get rid of the blue look from my 20k XM bulb. i have NEVER messed w/ my white balance so i was lucky enough to get it to work out so well. from now on i will have to mess w/ my white balance and see if i can get my pics (corals, clams, etc) to turn out better.
and on to the pics!!
